Magomed Zaynukov vs Lucas Caldas Full Fight – Dana White’s Contender Series 85

Magomed Zaynukov defeated Lucas Caldas via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-26) in a thrilling three-round lightweight main event at Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) Season 9, Week 9.

• Round 1 (The Scare): The two lightweights met in the center of the cage and immediately traded heavy leather. Representing Nova União, Brazil’s Lucas Caldas showcased a rock-solid chin and a pressure-heavy style. Early in the round, Caldas found success by dropping Zaynukov with a beautiful, heavy right hand. The Russian phenom recovered well, utilizing tight elbow strikes and executing a sharp leg sweep to get on top and weather the early storm. 

• Rounds 2 & 3 (The Record-Breaking Comeback): After the initial knockdown, Zaynukov (a 2x IFMA Muay Thai World Champion out of the Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov School) stayed highly technical and completely took over. He unleashed an overwhelming volume of strikes, fracturing Caldas’s defense with sharp jabs, uppercuts, and a signature step-in elbow paired with a right hand. Caldas showed immense heart and continued to march forward through the chaos, but he could not match the pace. 

By the final horn, Zaynukov had landed a staggering 270 total strikes, setting a new DWCS lightweight record for the most significant strikes landed in a single bout. His performance earned him a UFC contract, keeping his undefeated professional MMA record intact at 8-0.
