Mandel Nallo defeated Carrington Banks via knockout (knee strike) at 0:57 of Round 2 during their lightweight bout at Bellator 207 on October 12, 2018, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Round 1: Grappling Chess Match

Nallo opened the fight aggressively on his feet, using his long frame to target Banks with heavy kicks. As the action quickly moved to the canvas, Nallo locked in a deep anaconda choke. Banks showed excellent composure and wrestling defense, keeping his elbow elevated to prevent Nallo from fully choking him out with his own arm. After escaping the submission attempt, Banks successfully implemented his wrestling game, securing a takedown, pinning Nallo against the cage, and controlling the remainder of the round from the top position.

Banks came out for the second round looking to pressure Nallo and build on his wrestling momentum. Less than a minute into the frame, Banks moved forward behind a jab and dipped his head low to duck a potential counter-strike.

Nallo anticipated the level change perfectly. He launched a flawless, standing right knee that caught Banks flush on the jaw. The impact was devastating, causing a standing knockout that lifted Banks’ head before sending him folding backward onto the canvas. The referee stepped in immediately to stop the fight at the 57-second mark before any follow-up ground strikes could land.

The finish was widely shared across sports networks like ESPN’s SportsCenter and heavily considered a candidate for “Knockout of the Year”. The spectacular victory preserved Nallo’s perfect professional record at the time (7-0), while handing Banks his second consecutive loss.
