Myktybek Orolbai vs Tofiq Musayev Full Fight – UFC on ABC 8

Myktybek Orolbai defeated Tofiq Musayev via first-round submission (kimura) at UFC Fight Night: Hill vs. Rountree Jr. (also known as UFC Baku). The fight took place on June 21, 2025, at the Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Originally scheduled as a lightweight bout, it was altered to a 165-pound catchweight match during the weigh-ins.

• The Opening Salvo: Orolbai shot for a takedown immediately after the opening bell. He briefly hoisted Musayev into the air but failed to finalize the position. 

• The Ground Dominance: After resetting, Orolbai successfully landed his next takedown attempt. He used heavy pressure and physical strength to transition from half guard into a dominant side control. 
• The Escape and Reset: Musayev fought back to his feet with roughly a minute left in the round. The debuting hometown fighter threw a hard body kick. Orolbai expertly caught the kick to secure a third takedown. 
• The Submission Finish: Once back on the mat, Musayev left his left arm completely exposed. Orolbai instantly swung his leg over Musayev’s head to isolate the limb. He locked in a deep kimura lock and cranked it tightly, forcing Musayev to tap out at 4:35 of Round 1. 

 Orolbai completely nullified Musayev’s signature striking game.
