The co-main event of UFC Fight Night 280: Fiziev vs. Torres featured a compelling middleweight clash between Sharabutdin “Shara Bullet” Magomedov and Michel Pereira on June 27, 2026, at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan. The matchup paired two of the division’s most creative strikers, with Magomedov looking to continue his ascent in the rankings and Pereira hoping to revive his momentum after an inconsistent run.

The opening round was fought at a measured but tense pace. Pereira immediately tried to disrupt Magomedov’s rhythm by mixing explosive feints with sudden level changes, forcing the Dagestani striker to think before committing to his attacks. Midway through the round, Pereira landed a clean overhand that briefly knocked Magomedov to the canvas, sending the Brazilian’s corner into celebration. Rather than rushing recklessly, Pereira followed with controlled pressure while Magomedov recovered quickly and defended intelligently. As the round progressed, “Shara Bullet” began finding his range with sharp jabs, body kicks, and straight right hands, but Pereira’s early knockdown was enough to give him the first five minutes on most scorecards.

Magomedov adjusted well in the second round. He increased his output, using constant lateral movement and long-range kicks to prevent Pereira from planting his feet. Every time Pereira attempted to explode forward or initiate a takedown, Magomedov defended effectively before returning to striking distance. Crisp one-two combinations, stabbing body kicks, and accurate counters gradually slowed Pereira’s offense. The Brazilian became increasingly hesitant, throwing fewer combinations as Magomedov’s precision took over. By the end of the round, the momentum had clearly shifted in favor of the hometown favorite.

With the fight potentially tied entering the final round, both men fought cautiously, aware that a single mistake could determine the outcome. Magomedov remained the busier striker, scoring with light calf kicks, straight punches, and occasional body attacks while maintaining excellent distance. Pereira looked for another explosive moment, mixing in leg kicks and late takedown attempts, but Magomedov consistently stuffed his entries and forced the fight back into open space. The contest was briefly halted after an accidental eye poke to Pereira, and Magomedov had also received repeated warnings earlier in the fight for illegal fouls, including hair pulling, though no point deductions were issued. Once action resumed, Magomedov finished the stronger fighter, landing the cleaner combinations and defending Pereira’s final wrestling attempt before the horn sounded.

After three competitive rounds, the judges unanimously scored the contest 29-28, 29-28, and 29-28 for Sharabutdin Magomedov. The comeback victory, achieved after surviving a first-round knockdown, highlighted his composure, technical striking, and ability to make effective in-fight adjustments.

The win represented an important step forward for Magomedov’s middleweight ambitions, extending his momentum against one of the division’s most unpredictable athletes. For Pereira, the loss underscored the difficulty of maintaining his early aggression over three rounds, as Magomedov’s superior volume, defensive wrestling, and tactical discipline proved decisive in a hard-fought co-main event.
