The co-main event at UFC Fight Night 267 was expected to produce fireworks between two dangerous southpaw strikers, and it delivered exactly that-only much faster than anyone anticipated. Geoff Neal entered the Octagon as the experienced, ranked contender looking to halt a difficult stretch in his career, while Uroš Medić arrived with supreme confidence after a string of explosive finishes, determined to prove he belonged among the welterweight elite.

Round 1

As soon as the referee signaled the start, both fighters took the center of the cage without hesitation. Neal opened with measured pressure, looking to establish his jab and attack the body, while Medic immediately showcased his trademark aggression by firing sharp front kicks and low kicks to disrupt Neal’s rhythm. The atmosphere inside Houston’s Toyota Center was electric as every exchange carried knockout potential.

Neal attempted to inch forward behind his boxing combinations, but Medic’s movement was crisp and composed. The Serbian striker repeatedly feinted before launching quick straight punches, forcing Neal to hesitate rather than fully commit to his offense. Neither man showed any interest in wrestling or clinching; it was a pure striking battle from the opening seconds.

About a minute into the contest, Neal stepped forward looking to land a powerful right hand. Medic anticipated the attack perfectly, slipping into range and firing a sharp counter right that briefly backed Neal up. Sensing an opening, Medic stayed aggressive instead of resetting.

Moments later, both fighters exchanged hooks in the pocket. Medic beat Neal to the punch with a perfectly timed left hook that landed flush on Neal’s temple. The impact instantly shut Neal’s lights out, sending him crashing face-first toward the canvas before he could react. Referee Kerry Hatley immediately stepped in to prevent any unnecessary follow-up strikes, recognizing Neal was completely unconscious.

Medic celebrated with a walk-off knockout before quickly returning to show concern and respect for Neal as he recovered. During his post-fight interview, he called for a matchup with former welterweight champion Leon Edwards, believing his spectacular finish had earned him a place among the division’s top contenders.
